Hi There,

Any one have experience applying to a travel document for PR from Canadian embassy in London UK?
How many days does it take to issue this travel document? I will attend a conference for a few days only. I have already a Uk visa.

Thanks

In India it takes around 2 week time thro VFS.

Which city in India? Bangalore? Chennai? Delhi? Mumbai? Kindly advise so that we can apply there. Many thanks.

Any VFS office closer to your location. My friend applied in VFS Chennai.

It will be a great help if you can advise the documents submitted for PRTD.
As per the Checklist on the web,
1. IMM 5524 duly filled 2. Doc Check List 3. Fee (to be done at the VAC) 4. 2 Photographs as per given specs 5. All Passports used in last 5 years
6. COPR 7. PR Cards expired 8. Notice of Tax assessment form

Does not state photocopies of any document at all, which means we have to submit all the above in originals?

Kindly check with your friend and advise. Many many thanks in advance.

He has submitted copies of supporting documents. However you can check with VFS before submitting your passport.

Any experience from the Canadian embassy in UK.
Another inquiry, I am not a resident of UK, only on visit visa to UK, Can I still apply for a travel document?

Thanks

CIC Agent is the best person to answer this question, if you can get a PR TD when you are a visitor there.
Good Luck

There is no Canadian Embassy in the UK. It's a High Commission. /pedantry.

You can apply for a PRTD there. I can not, unfortunately, find any linkable reliable sources online regarding processing times.

Unless you are "stuck" in the UK on your visit visa & need to leave to Canada urgently, I'd suggest making the PRTD application from/in your country of residence ...

Go with 12 days processing time as that quoted for TRVs giving a good enough approximation. Typically for a straightforward PRTD where the RO is not in doubt it may be less than this.

I have an email from consulate with 4 days processing time, I am assuming if its straight forward. I will be applying next week, will let you know the outcome.

The application was approved the next day. 3 days including sending and receiving the passport.

Regarding the documents needed for the PRTD , you need to submit the original passport used in the past 5 years or can you submit photocopies ?

What if you don't have the old passport and you renewed it and have only the new passport , what should be done in this case ?

Regards
