Proving common law

We have lived together since April 18th of this year, however I was not able to add his name to my rental lease until June 17th of this year, when we apply for common law next year, can I apply April 18th if I have letters from my parents and friends stating we have lived together for a year? Or would I need to wait until June to apply?

It really all depends on how strong of proofs you have OTHER than just the lease contract. The lease is not the end all be all definitive proof of common law status, it is merely one piece of the puzzle. Anything you two have that proves you were living together since April should be held onto. Mail in both your names to that address, or cards, bills, anything at all.
