As you may already know, those of us who have nomination and apply for EE, we are not awarded immediately with 600 points, province has to confirm our nomination to CIC directly with our EE file number we provide to province...

I'm a MPNP nominee, I've sen't them e mail explainig what they have to do, I actually attached exact .pdf I got from CIC with my file number.

they replied with this:

"Hello,
Since you were nominated by MPNP in 2014, we are not able to recommend you for the Express Entry program. You should still apply for permanent residency through the standard process.
Thank you,
Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program"

What?!?!!?
that's not how it's supposed to work, right?
I think they got it all wrong, I think they believe they can only confirm 500 people per year - but those are the candidates province will pick directly from pool of candidates, right?

please, does anybody have any advice?
are there other Province Nominees here who applied through EE?? what's your experience?

ok, I went to MPNP's web page and find these:
In addition, Manitoba will be able to nominate a maximum of 500 applicants through Express Entry in 2015. These applicants must also meet the minimum federal criteria for one of the three federal programs included in Express Entry.

Here’s how it works:

1. Skilled worker applicants who are committed to living and working in Manitoba Canada should apply directly to the MPNP. Note, you can still apply to the MPNP even if you have already submitted an Express Entry profile to CIC. The MPNP may invite some candidates who have already submitted an Express Entry profile to CIC, to submit a separate application to the MPNP

2. Manitoba may nominate some MPNP applicants who meet the minimum federal criteria for one of the three federal programs included in Express Entry and can benefit from the faster processing times. The MPNP will instruct successful candidates to submit an Express Entry profile to the federal Express Entry program if they have not already done so.

3. Express Entry candidates nominated by Manitoba will receive an additional 600 points in their Express Entry assessment and will receive an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). CIC has committed to faster processing times of 6 months or less for applicants through Express Entry.

Note: The MPNP will continue to directly nominate successful applicants through our existing skilled worker and business categories. Provincial nominees from MPNP skilled worker and business categories will not need to apply through Express Entry, but will submit a separate and complete application for permanent residence to CIC after they have been approved as a Manitoba provincial nominee.

yes, I know that, but that's for candidates that provinces will pick form pool of candidates?
It's what's been told for some time now..

people who went on EE seminars were told that's recommended for Province nominees, who already applied for PR, to apply again through EE because it supposed to be faster!

no one EVER said those of us who already obtained Provincial nomination won't be able to obtain 600 points!!

I think your case would touch the nerves of all PNP candidates across the nation,

If province M has decided to play this way, other provinces would definitely follow as well.

As of now, I haven't seen any updates relate to this type of issue neither on BC PNP's web, nor from any BCPNP members from this forum, but I think it's just a matter of time!

In my opinion, the 2 600 points are not guaranteed in any case, however, this is only the first month of the new EE, I hope things can be more clearer as more candidates provide their feedback!

Behold my friend! we will learn something from the result of first draw!

I'm absolutely furious now, because everyone was told on seminars all PNP applicants will be able to apply for EE (if they fall under one of 3 categories under PNP). My immigration coordinator asked that on seminar she attended! they even discussed will PNP nominees need ECA!
No one EVER said there'll be limitations and not all PNP nominees, that falls under one of EE categories, will be eligible for EE.

I've obviously wasted 200 CAD on my ECA because of their wrong informations!! (because my regulatory body insists on IQAS which CIC does not accept.. so.. yeah, great )
I'm so mad....

And a little bit more to add on my last comment,

we still have 2 options to apply for PR on the CIC webpage,

standard process or EE, this is for sure!

EE is like a lean production/deathmatch, and standard process is like a 3 hour movie with a happy ending.

I am an MPNP nominee myself, was just nominated last December but decided to hold off the CIC application and apply through express entry as I am also qualified under FSTP. I am yet to hear from MPNP about the confirmation of my nomination as they haven't replied to my email yet. If they tell me the same thing, then I guess I would send my application the normal way. I will keep you posted once they reply to my email.

yes, please, keep us posted!

uncle_smile, I saw that post, but I didn't understand it well - what does "integration" mean, exactly?

This is very true, I did same ECA and going to take Ilets exam. However. PNP is not yet integrated with Express Entry. If you are nominated in 2014, you have to apply through old conventional way and I believe you can bridge the work permit. 17 Months is the processing time for PNP PR application.

On the other hand, we have no info for the people who will get nominated this year, how well it will help them with Express Entry.

Another thing is apply for LIMA, I guess it is not that hard, you have to apply for LIMA in anycase to support your PR Application, if you already have LMO / LIMA this wont help as it has expiry on it as per CIC. The new LIMA for supporting your PR application doesn't have expiry. I believe it is also easy to get.

Call CIC and Double Check with them

Best of Luck.

I have alberta PNP and when i went to pnp office they said if you have pnp means we will not get 600 points, we should also have offer letter with LMIA then only pnp isvalid thats what they said, So if we have only pnp we cannot get 600 points

I would say it is a similar select/pick mechanism as province M, but it will take 1 month for Ontario to declare its design. so, need to wait and see

look at this!
especially, I quote
If an applicant gets a nomination from a province or territory, they will be given enough additional points to be invited to apply for permanent residence at the next eligible draw of candidates.
9. What is the process for potential candidates who want to use both a Provincial Nominee Program and Express Entry?

There are two ways to do this. A person can:

apply to the PNP first, get a nomination and then fill out an Express Entry profile; or
fill out the Express Entry profile first. Provinces and territories can then search the Express Entry pool and ask a candidate to apply for their PNP. When the candidate gets a nomination certificate, they will update their Express Entry profile.
In either case, once a person updates their Express Entry profile to show they have a provincial or territorial nomination certificate, they will be given enough additional points to be invited to apply at the next eligible draw of candidates.
not one word, whatsoever, about limitations!!!
It's absolutely unfair!!!

Just got a reply from MPNP:

"
Unfortunately, the MPNP is not able to endorse the Express Entry submission of candidates who have already been nominated by the province. We are developing a process for those MPNP applicants who can qualify for Express Entry and would then stream them through Express Entry after we nominate, however that will apply to new applications only. If you wish to continue with the process through Express Entry, you would have to withdraw your existing MPNP application and reapply to take advantage of this new process. There is however never a guarantee you would be nominated again. Otherwise, it may be best to continue with the process of obtaining Canadian permanent residence through the regular application process outlined in your approval package from the MPNP.

Kind Regards,

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program
Online Application Support."

That's it, I'm withdrawing my profile and submit through normal process then. Goodluck everyone!
