PROTECTED PERSON VS PERMANENT RESIDENT

Hello everyone,

for residency calculator,

a protected person ( or a refugee who was been granted asylum),

when does the residency calculator starts counting 1) the day the protected person document is issue, or 2) the day the PR CARD is issue.

I am asking this because a friend is trying to apply for citizenship. SHe was issue a protected person document 5-6 years before a PR CARD was issue only 2 years ago.
