Hi guys...please help!

so the company who was sponsoring me to stay in Canada - I am now in the final stages of the review process after CIO approval- has declared bankruptcy today. I am very upset but am wondering what will happen now?

Any chance I can still get my PR status?

Well, this is truly weird situation. Well, bankruptcy proceedings and court filings usually take times, months if not years. This is in the US, am not sure about Canada, which might be even longer. This depends also on the size of the company, it's shareholders, legal status...etc. So you might have time as long as they dint terminate your employment.

Till this happens, you need to get official letter from your employer stating their bankruptcy status, and you then communicate back to CIC, I'm positive they will consider your case. Don't worry.

Good luck,
