Propose changes to Express Entry to cater for International Students-Discussion

Minister of Immigration in a recent interview :

One area that we talked about in our platform is to work to improve the situation of international students. They have not done well under this program. Now they need to get LMIAs [labour market impact assessments] for jobs and they have trouble doing that. We’re going to look at ways to improve things for students within Express Entry and the Canadian experience class

We’re an aging society and we’re in competition with the United States and Australia, and it’s hard to think of a stronger group [of immigrants] than international students. They are educated, know something about the country, and typically speak English or French. We have to court them. One of the things we will do for sure is to re-establish the credit they used to get for their time spent in Canada toward citizenship.

Now what do you read between the lines, any hope that new rules are going to be undertaken to increase the chances of International Student in Express Enty

I've posted this comment several times, but I will repeat again. IRCC needs to divide the EE pool into different categories with different draw scores and quotas. Let international students compete with international students, skilled workers vs. skilled workers. That way, it will be fair for both groups.
You cannot make young undergrads compete with skilled worker with more than 5 years of working experience and spouse. Reward extra points for anyone who willing to move and work in remote areas of Canada for at least, 3 or 4 years (must sign a contract with the govt.).

Well, at this time, Phd with 4 years TA/RA (NOC 4012) get less points in EE than undergraduate students with 1 year retail store work experience.
