I am an Ontario PNP-PR applicant (June 2015) with my wife as an accompanying dependant. We received an AOR email in the end of August with my name, address, file number, statement that my application meets the requirements and is being processed etc.

My wife is now pregnant and does not have a health card, we have accepted the fact that we will cover the costs of care and delivery ourselves, but the hospital said they will charge us less for the hospital stay if we can prove we have entered the immigration process. Since the CIO email is all we have and it does not include her name as a dependant, they say the cannot help us out.

Do you know if it is possible to get any kind of paper from CIC/CIO which would prove we both are in the process together? We don`t have a lot of time and it seems the whole PR process has slowed down for everyone these days ... I will call and write to them first thing tomorrow morning, but just wanted also to check here, in case any of you have some first-hand information to share - that would be much appreciated!

No, her name is also not on the PNP certificate ...

The info I got from the call centre: they do see my wife as a dependant in their online system, but there is nothing they can do to share that info with us. The new system only addresses the primary applicant in the AOR. We will have to wait to get MR before we will be able to see my wife`s name on any PR related document.

As an alternative, I was advised to send a letter to CIO explaining my situation and attaching the hospital request for information with their explanation why they need it. Since it is not a standard practise, no one guarantees CIO will reply to this letter.

Hoping for a MR soon ...
