Hi guys.

I have a question about proof of work. I've seen a few people post the list for what is required when you get selected and for work experience they want pay slips of you have them and a letter of employment from your employer. My question is what if the company has gone bankrupt and is no longer open/running?

I have a year and a half work experience in Canada which I can get a letter of employment for as I'm currently still working for them but I the company I worked for back in the UK shut down in January and there is no one I can contact and I don't have any of my old pay slips.

Any ideas? Can I just explain that to cic...

I'm the same. I worked for an Irish firm that went bang. I just listed the job experience and my lawyer said to draft up a letter listing the details of employment and a copy of the company's financial status which I obtained online.

I worked for several employers at home, and can only supply proof of employment letters for 2. I have no wages slips or contracts.

Use your bank statements from UK that will show that you were getting paid.
Also, you must have filed your income tax. Use that!
Offer letter, relieving letter also works.
Try connecting to your supervisors or managers from work. See, if they have a contact.
Also, I am sure that, like Canada's service canada, UK must have some govt employement agency. try emailing them and see if they can send you proof of your employement.

Worry most about the ones you got points for, either EE or your program. Really think hard about anything you can produce - old tax forms or bank records, for instance - to prove your experience. If there really is nothing you can do, a letter of explanation is fine, but I doubt you will get points for it.

Guys, I have this question :

I graduated my bachelor degree in 2012 ( Mechanical Engineer ) - but I started working in 2011 .

When they asked me in the PR application : when was I qualified to perform this job , I mentioned 2012 .

do you think they are going to disqualify me , or reject my work experience till I received my Bachelor degree ?

I am supporting my experience with social contribution slips to the government and Reference letter , and boss business card ,

BTW , do they contact your employer ? , do they notify them earlier to doing so ? so that they are able to respond to their phone call ?

-----------
EE profile :27th oof March
ITA : 27th of March
Application Submitted : 24th of April

similar note. Lets say i worked for company X after graduation and did not get paid .. was mostly something for experience.. and that company has gone KAPUT.

i worked for company Y for 7 years after that.

On every immigration document so far .. student visa / post graduate WP / MPNP application etc i have listed that company X in my 10 year history that they ask in the generic forms.

Now, I dont want to claim points for it. Must i still list this company in work experience in the EE profile... or must i list this company later when they ask for 10 year history in the generic forms

In other words, in EE must you mention what all you are CLAIMING or must you mention all irrespective of whether claiming or not.

TRY TO CONVINCE YOUR EMPLOYER TO USE THE TERMINOLOGY USED IN THE NOC JOB DESCRIPTION , THIS WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE WAY EASIER, AND WONT DELAY YOU LATER. AS THEY MIGHT ASK FOR AN INTERVIEW IF THEY WANTED TO CLARIFY SOMETHING.
