Hi there!

I have been working for a language institution as an English language trainer from aug 2013 to till date. I used to get salary in cash from 2013 to 2016 and by cheques from 2016 onwards. Now, my employer says that he can't provide me any proof for the period of 2013 to 2016 such as salary slips but he can give me reference letter from the period of 2016 to 2019.

Now I am confused whether i should show my work experience from 2013 or 2016 onwards.

1. Is it necessary to show payslips or cheques? If yes then for how much period we need to do that?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Are you claiming CRS points for this?

Those proofs for what you’re claiming points for are most critical. If you have enough years to get max points in this or another NOC, this can go under your personal history and submit a reference compliant with the required contents.

Thanks for replying @phl2019.
Yes I am claiming CRS points for it.
That is why, I want to know whether i should show all my working years from 2013 to till now which are 8 nearly or i should submit reference letter only for years from 2016 to 2019 as I have salary cheques for these years?

A letter from your employer for work done 2013-2019 is exactly what you’ll need if you choose to declare it

“a reference or experience letter from the employer, which
  • should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and email address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company),
  • should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits”
That’s what your boss guarantees to provide, right?

Ok. Got it. Thanks ☺
Just one more thing. Do i need to produce any proof such as salary slip or cheques to support my reference letter?
