Proof of work experience, how do they count?

Hey people !
I'm collecting the Employer Reference Letters for the Proof of work experience (foreigner) and I'm wondering
Does the Government will count every single day ??

for example:
If my contract was from 5 January 2015 to 31 December 2015
will it count as 1 year experience? or not because I miss 5 days of work?

Also guys please can you explain me How it works for freelance ?
If I worked for 2 years as freelence but only did X days of work ?
