I'm planning to stay in Canada for 6 months with my Canadian boyfriend for ski season this winter.

I'm a UK citizen so am visa exempt.

How do i prove i'm self employed, with work to go back to, when i'm taking 6 months out, so don't theoretically have work to go back to but the plan is to arrange contract work for when i return home whilst i'm in Canada.

Also, i have a tenant living in my flat on a 6month tenancy agreement, (the agreement comes to an end when i return to the uk so i can move back home) will this be enough to show my ties to the UK along with my mortgage certificate?

Hi,

It's really great you are going to Canada to be with your boyfriend for six months for Ski season.
As you are a British citizen you are allowed to stay for six months (visa exempt country).
If you're self employed, you can prove by showing taxes you pay. Do you own the that Flat ?

hi,

thanks :)

yes i own the flat.

My self employed status is just starting so i'm not going to have much proof, although i was self employed 18 months ago, so have tax returns form then.

Hi,

You are only going to stay for six months. You can prove you have self employed status now and you need to return after six months. And you own a flat in UK. Carry all the proves with you. There won't be any problems. Have a good time.
Cheers. ;D

Are you operating as a sole trader or a limited company?
