Hi,

Since I will be quitting my job to go to school to Canada, how can I prove I'm coming back. Except for family I have no ties to the country. No property or anything on my name. To be honest, I don't intend to come back. I just want school and experience after to be OF SOME USE WITHIN CANADA - A FUNCTIONAL PERSON IN THE SOCIETY. Too bad it seems impossible to make them hire you from here, as a foreign worker, because most companies are too lazy to go through LMIA. So all I want is the chance to be hired then I'm good. But for that I wanna go the PGWP route and gain exp inland. I already have 2.5 years exp in telecom from here (not a lot...but still something)

Thoughts on how to put this on paper / how to write my SOP for the visa officer?

The best way to write a convincing SOP is first of all to explain why Canada(not UK/Ireland/Australia/US). ( By the way what country are you from? It sounds to me like from EU, but I can be mistaken.)
Secondly, why this program ? - and third, how it could help you in your career in home country? It means nothing that you intent is immigrate to Canada. Imagine that you do not intend to immigrate, and write it from that point a view.

I'm from Romania, so yeah, EU
I was wondering if there are forms (doubtful) or models (maybe) that I can use to write this. Do I just add it to the other papers as such, like the SOP I wrote for applying to the university in the first place? I mean it sounds like it has a broad spectrum of topics to cover and formats. I just don't wanna ruin it. Like for school, this is a key feature.

Also I presume having a sponsor is a different deal and they have to write a separate letter, stating why they're gonna sponsor me and the economic details included?

Thanks!

Well, this is a red flag for CIC. You may take any course in UK or Holland , still in English, and much cheaper.

Correct. And not only a letter but A PROOF that they are paying for you and from what source.

Here on the forum were discussions about SOP. Just try to type "Statement Purpose" in SEARCH. Also, try Google. Statement of purpose for immigration

Hi,

OK I'll scour he forums for models/ideas.
Also, as to my sponsor, of course he will give an affidavit on that letter and as proof - last 4-5 months of his bank account + letter from work stating his permanent position. (He is a Canadian citizen, born and bred, with a stable decent paying job). And we will explain what we have and how we plan on using it. I just hope it doesn't seem weird to them that he is sponsoring me if he's not blood related. I've heard different opinions about this. Some say it's a red flag. There's no proof a stranger can guarantee your well being for 2 years, even if he signed a notarized letter.

Can you tell me who is your sponsor? Like your parents or you yourself? I think you can explain in your SOP about the program you are gonna study in Canada and its link with your previous qualification. Plus you should tell about the opportunities that you would have in your home country after graduating from Canadian institution and how would your program of study would be helpful for you in your home country.

Hi,

My boyfriend will sponsor me. That's why I am saying it's weird 'cause he is not blood related. I don't want this to sound weird to a visa officer. We wanna take our time and do this right. Otherwise we could apply through marriage or some other common-law program. However I am not well informed about these and they always seemed sketchy to me. I like earning my rights. I wanna prove i can handle myself there on my own. I will be working part time through my graduate program and full time on my PGWP after if given. A Canadian master's program will definitely help with being hired. With no work visa and a university from Romania, the people there don't seem likely to hire. It's a vicious circle: they don't hire without a visa, and to get a work visa you need a job offer. Being there and getting the chance to interact with potential employers makes things easier, I believe. It gives things a natural flow (school ->work -> get your life together in order)
