-Important documents for you and your spouse showing that you are recognized as each other's spouse (such as employment
or insurance benefits)

under this requirement, can I show my marriage certificate as we recently got married 1 month ago and we don't have insurance or employment benefits ?

Thanks

no, that wont suffice -- can you add her as a beneficiary to anything? add her to phone bills? open bank accounts?

Agree. Your options are:

Provide at least 2 of the following (check which items you are providing):
Important documents for you and your spouse showing that you are recognized as each other's spouse (such as employment
or insurance benefits)
Documentary evidence of financial support between you and your sponsor, and/or shared expenses.
Other proof that your relationship is recognized by your friends and/or family (e.g. Letters from friends/family, social media
information showing a public relationship, etc.).

We did joint bank, benefits, joint lease, joint bills in addition to submitting our marriage certificate which is a separate requirement. We also got 4 letters from friends and family.

What happens if we just got married, and she is living aboard, and doesn't need

but only can provide letters from friends and family and of course social media

well, in my case I can't provide none of the above mentioned requirements other than family/friends letter as she is living in Canada and I am living in Pakistan, What should I do now?

How did you get a joint bank account? All of the people I've talked to said we cannot have a joint bank account until I become a PR... Any help would be much appreciated!

Some banks allow you to open without a sin/pr.

We got joint bank account no problem. Just needed pieces of ID.

That's not true. We setup a joint account when hubby was on visitor status. They just need valid ID.
It may be easier if you have an existing account at your bank and then add a new joint account there. :)

Just putting my 2 cents here...

We also didn’t have much in terms of « official » paperwork to show for our application. We just sent in a few letters from friends and family to confirm our relationship. As well as tons of relevant pictures, Facebook posts, receipts from outings, boarding passes, wedding pictures, honeymoon stuff etc..

We weren’t asked for additional proof so I guess it was enough. I realize it might not be the norm.

Walked into the bank and opened one.... ;)

Are the people you've talked to just colleagues and friends? If so, best not to listen to them. You need to go to a bank to find out.

We struggled a bit with this one as well and with the financial support.
Because of my position at work, I dont have benefits but I emailed the payroll support woman and I printed off those emails were it shows her saying congrats on our marriage along with the reason why i dont get benefits. We werent going to add anything in this part but since I had that email I thought it would be good. I didn't really think of opening a bank account with him when he was here. That would have been a great idea.

Mainly it was people at my husbands bank branch. Ugh! When he was setting up his bank account a few years ago we asked if we could set it up as a joint account and the lady helping us said no, you have to be PR. So much for that! Now that we are submitting our application by the end of the month it wont make a difference since it wont be done on time, but at least we have lots of other proof..
