Guys, how much is enough and what about legal translation?

I have been wondering how many e-mails or letters and stuff to send as proof and more importantly, since they are not in English or French, do I need a certified sworn blah-blah translation (as I do for legal documents), or my translation would be enough??

Short history: Me and hubby met in 1999. I immigrated with my parents to Canada in 2000. Fate and circumstance separated us. However, Love conquers all :) Especially true, undying love. We reunited in 2010. I moved back to my home country and have been living with him since then. We are now married and have a kid. I can provide photos from my prom with him dated May 2000, as well as recent photos 2010-2014. I can also provide the letters we exchanged in 2000-2002. Recent letters and e-mails are dated 2009-2010 until I arrived here. From then on up to now, we have exchanged few e-mails and greeting cards, because we are actually together :D

So... How many letters, e-mails, photos...?? CERTIFIED translation or not?

Thanks again and sorry if someone else has already asked, but my case is slightly different and dates 15 yrs back...

There are a few of my letters about 30 pages long... How much money do you think I will spend on certified translation, (if this is required) if I were to send all correspondence in the amount of hundreds of pages?
Please, let only people who could actually help with an advice, answer my question, because such answers as above don't help much, sorry...

Well I can speak from experience with the VO office - Manila. Personally, we did NOT send in any letters. Many will say here "how much that you feel is enough", is enough. In all my time here, I haven't heard of Bucharest being a difficult VO, but even better than my experience and opinion however, would be if someone with experience processing out of the Bucharest VO, will post their own experience including how much they included with their application.

It is always quality that is best, not quantity. Photos are good, but pick ones that have both you and your husband together. Having extended family in them is big bonus. Of course wedding and honeymoon photos are best. So is the prom photo. My wife sent in 60 but we could have sent less probably.

Handwritten letters are nice. So are greeting cards. A few of those are good.

E-mails and chat longs (facebook, skype) are not as valuable to CIC. Send in a few pages with the best content but don't over do it. People have sent hundreds and hundreds of pages of e-mail and chat logs only to find out the CIC shredded most of them because of the volume.

You have a very long history with your husband and married with kids. To CIC, you have a strong relationship so I don't think you will have much problems.

Are you sure about the bolden part? In another thread, I asked a similar question : Is there anything as "too many documents". My wife and me have over 200 pages of Skype chat, over 20 pages of Facebook chat, many emails, common plane tickets, many hotel vouchers. I even have emails and facebook messages between me and my family/friends in which I talk about my relationship with my wife. In the other thread, I've been told to send everything. Here, you give another opinion. I can understand if everybody's just guessing because we don't really know. Or maybe your information comes from solid sources?

If I have a single doubt, I'll send everything I got, even if I need a truck to deliver it (massive exageration here). I suppose that too much will always be better than not enough. Especially since my wife is from Thailand and they might be more picky with that country.

Check out this thread:
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/anything-missing-for-our-application-t230208.0.html

In it, you can see two examples of people who sent in around 500 pages of chats and when they ordered their GMCS notes, it is stated that CIC shredded most of it. One of the GMCS notes even states that the application is too bulky, hence the shredding.

Others have stated that huge applications actually can irritate case officers since they need to sort through it all. Or if not irritate them, at least slow them down. I don't know about the irritation but i can see it slowing them down because they have to go through hundreds of pages of stuff to determine what to analyze and what to shred.

Alright, I'll go with quality: handwritten letters from before and from 2009-2010, greeting cards, important e-mails and photos including me and him and our families, friends and colleagues.

Still, I guess I will have to get them translated by a certified, sworn translator, eh?
