I am a US citizen, and my UK/Canada citizen hubby and I are in the process of putting together all the documents for spousal sponsorship.

The US specific document says to enclose 4 photos (passport *like* photos - with neutral expression on the white background, etc) - Did you write on the back of the photos when the photo was taken? (I know it didn't tell you to do that in the document itself, but I thought that was something customarily done...? No?)

Also, did you send original boarding passes, etc as evidence of travel/seeing each other, or you send photo copies?

Any comment would be greatly appreciated.

I've sent originals and now I regret doing that, because I'd like to withdraw and apply outland and they won't send it back
So I advise you to send copies haha

also, my pictures were stamped and dated by the photographer. It's probably a good idea to write down the date, make sure the ink doesn't destroy the picture though.

If the US country guide doesn't require you to write on the back of the photos, then don't. What you can do for extra peace of mind is to put those 4 pictures in an envelope and write your name and dob on it. If your application or pictures get misplaced (which has been known to happen), at least they will have some information to help them match the pics to the application.

As for boarding passes and other relationship evidence, I sent photocopies only. Again, if you send originals and they lose or misplace your documents they won't own up to it and you'll have nothing to re-send.

Good luck with your application.

I sent photo copies of every thing, unless stated original . I also copied all of my application just in case they misplaced something. My photos only had the date stamped on the back , but i was using the U.k forms. I put all of them in a separate envelope and marked the envelope. Check the size of the photo's they require . Ours was not passport size.

I concur about photocopies of anything you can't replace. Follow your country specific package and it will tell you what to write, if anything, on the back of the photos.

Thank you all very much for all your comments. I will definitely send the photocopies instead of the original.
