Hi All,

Just wanted to know what should I attach as proof of funds. Please let me know what all of the following should I attach

1> Paystubs and Company Letter of my current job in Canada
2> Summary of money in the bank in Canada
3> Summary of money in my bank in India
4> Summary of money in my Spouses account in India

I know that having a job means I don't need to show proof of funds. Apart from my job, any of the proofs individually satisfy the funds requirements for my spouse and I. So which should I be adding. I don't want to add too many or too little, so which one do you suggest I should add for my application to go smoothly?

Thanks
S

"I know that having a job means I don't need to show proof of funds"

That statement is incorrect. The criteria for not requiring POF is when one is invited under the CEC program OR when an applicant is claiming a valid job offer.

If you're applying under the FSW program then a bank letter of the account where you have the minimum required funds is sufficient.

What stream were you invited under? Your ITA will outright say it: CEC, FSW, FST, PNP.. etc.

If you were invited as a part of CEC, which is very likely since you are working in Canada, simply reduce the value of the proof of funds to 0 and the place holder for the document will disappear.

CEC applicants do not have to show and proof of funds: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

You don’t need to show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family to meet the program requirements of the Canadian Experience Class (this includes provincial nominees who are part of the CEC stream).

Here it says something else: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

'You do not have to show that you have these funds if:

>you have a valid offer of arranged employment in Canada AND
>you are currently working or authorized to work in Canada.'

This is precisely my situation

Are you claiming 50/200 points for a valid job offer?

If so then forget about showing POF.

I saw from a post you made on Feb 8th (http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/54th-draw-3664-ita447-points-8-feb2017-t473580.0.html;msg5763863#msg5763863) that you do not meet the requirements for CEC. You only meet the requirement for FSW. The only way possible that you won't need a proof of funds is if you have a VALID job offer.

Not every job offer in Canada is a valid job offer, so please be careful. You also mentioned on Feb 1st (http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/ray-of-hope-54th-draw-predictions-t471337.0.html;msg5747199#msg5747199) that you are on a PGWP. Any job offer whilst on a PGWP is not a valid job offer unless your company has a positive LMIA.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp
Note that this does not apply if you are currently authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer.

Hi Guys,
I understand that most people say that CIC requires a document illustrating that you've always had the minimum amount of founds in your bank account for the past 6 months (untouched).
On the other hand it's stated in the application page that you need to submit a document showing your balance for the same period of time (6 months) but nothing about having all the money untouched during these 6 months.
My question is: I haven't been able to find the link on CIC website mentioning the requirement of having the minimum founds during the entire 6 months period! does anyone have such a link?

That's an excellent question, I'm struggling to find it too.

Here are the laws and regulations for the FSW stream: http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-2002-227/page-16.html#docCont

The only thing I can find that references the funds is:
76 (1) For the purpose of determining whether a skilled worker, as a member of the federal skilled worker class, will be able to become economically established in Canada, they must be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:

(a) the skilled worker must be awarded not less than the minimum number of required points referred to in subsection (2) on the basis of the following factors, namely,

(i) education, in accordance with section 78,

(ii) proficiency in the official languages of Canada, in accordance with section 79,

(iii) experience, in accordance with section 80,

(iv) age, in accordance with section 81,

(v) arranged employment, in accordance with section 82, and

(vi) adaptability, in accordance with section 83; and

(b) the skilled worker must

(i) have in the form of transferable and available funds, unencumbered by debts or other obligations, an amount equal to one half of the minimum necessary income applicable in respect of the group of persons consisting of the skilled worker and their family members, or

(ii) be awarded points under paragraph 82(2)(a), (b) or (d) for arranged employment, as defined in subsection 82(1), in Canada.

Thank you so much!! That worked, I was wondering why is this necessary since I'm already in Canada on PGWP working. Changing the amount to zero worked! One less document to upload.

You still have to upload a letter stating that you're a CEC applicant and thus, no POF is required.
