hello, I went through different threads hoping to find an answer to my question but I found different replies..., so I hope to get this clear here :)

I'm about to sponsor my wife under the "Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class". I'm a Canadian citizen and she's from Brazil. We had our civil wedding few weeks ago and I was wondering what could be a valid proof(s) of Marriage other than a Marriage Certificate.

thanks!

Hey marriage certificat is most important document if you want to sponsor her for canada. Apart from that you guys can submit wedding pictures if there was any traditional marriage function, shopping bills, honeymoon trip pictures and bill of hotel, travel tickets which you guys bought till now to meet each other, chat n call history etc. All these evidences gonna prove ur relationship. So don't try to get fake paperworks try to submit more n more evidences which are true and genuie.

thanks Giuri!
the immigration instructions say that I have to show that the "marriage was legally registered with the government where it took place". would the information that you provided be enough to prove that?

Yeah tht'z enough bruv the stuff which i told u above apart from tht you can add wedding invitation card if you guys printed, effidavit with govt stamp duty from two friends or relatives with photo copy of their identity proof who attended your engagenent, registred marriage, traditional marriage but make sure you will mention date n place carefully. It shouldn't be from your blood relation who will give affidavit to you. If you guys went for medical before marriage cuz i dunno wot's the procedure to get married over there get those bill slip if u paid, any notice proof if you guys gave in newspaper, any NOC from embassey before getting married. So u can add all those too.
