Hello,
I am planning to include my university transcript as proof of the language requirement. My university was in the United States and my major, coincidentally, was English. The degree awarded is shown as Bachelors of Science, Major: English. (I can also probably dig up my diploma from the crawl space but figured this was enough).
The document doesn’t say “This person studied in English or French” but that would be a rather strange thing to have worded on any university transcript or diploma and I don’t know how much clearer it could be that I am English proficient. (North American university, degree awarded, majored in English).
Does anyone foresee any problems using this transcript as my proof of language proficiency or been in a similar situation yourself and had it serve you just fine?
On a lighter note, being an English major with an emphasis in technical writing, I find instruction guide passages such as, “These materials must show that the program was in English or French” flummoxing. For technical writers, it just begs the questions, what exactly does “show” mean? (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=573&top=5) lol
Thanks for your time.
