In the end we ended up using:
-Bank statements from my Canadian bank account I still have
-A letter from my partners old workplace in Canada with his recommendation and how they would be happy to have him back when he returns
-A letter we wrote saying how we love the Vancouver lifestyle and want to move back there to have a family. We also wrote about my partner’s intentions to take some post secondary courses he had looked into at BCIT, how there’s a lot of jobs in my career field at the moment there but aren’t near as many for me here in Oz etc. We also mentioned that we have intentions to sell everything we have here and that we don’t have any ties (no property owned, no work contracts)
-My workplace that I’ve technically been on leave from was being difficult so I mentioned them in our letter but I didn’t end up getting a letter from them about my leave
-A letter from my mom saying she was looking forward to us coming back there and how she would let us live with her as long as we need.

-Also proof that my working holiday visa in Australia is going to expire and that I’ll definitely be leaving before that date.
We’re still in the middle of our application so time will tell if this has been enough.
