HI Everyone,

I am applying for spouse immigration as my wife is Canadian national and we both living outside the Canada , i have the following queries regarding proof of income

1) They asked the proof of income for the sponser preceding the 12 months : My wife was not working since 2011 and she does not have enough proof of income to mention .What we can do here ?

2) Does she submit last 12 month bank statement which realistically cannot fulfill their requirements ?

3) Can I ( Principal applicant) submit my bank statement which is quite enough to fulfill their requirements ?

or is their any other way to address this issue .

your help and feedback's will be highly appreciated

Yes, you can show proof of savings in a bank account, you the applicant can show pay stubs and savings in a bank account (if different than that of your spouse). You can also write a letter explaining how you intend to support yourselves.

My husband had no money saved (applicant), I had no money saved (sponsor) because I had been working/ living in my husband's country (developing) making a poor wage for the previous 3 years. We just wrote a letter explaining that my parents would help us and allow us to live with them, etc. We then submitted a letter from my parents also explaining this. As even more proof I showed a couple emails I had with possible future employers showing that I was applying for jobs (since I had just moved back to Canada at the time of submitting the application).

So, attach the bank accounts, etc. and include a letter explaining how you and your spouse will be able to support yourselves. If you'll be living off of savings until you (the applicant) is able to get a job, then state that.
