As long as your wife has a valid visitor visa, there is no need for the bank letter. Just board the plane with the Chinese passport and visitor visa. At the Canadian port of entry, both of you shall fill out a separate declaration card. The Border Officer did not mention the bank letter and invitation letter.

Thanks for your reply, I just asked because I was reading on the cic website that may be asked for proof of funds and your invitation letter in the airport by the boarder officers and I wanted to be clear on it, im the kind of person that likes to cross all his T's and dot all his I's, yet my spelling and grammer are atrotious. Maybe that is just for the people comming in on the visa waver program. Do you have any input on my other question about the transit visa? I really think its great how friendly and helpful everyone is on this forum. Most other forum iv been to have alot of trash talk in them lol. not that there is not a few bad apples in every place but I have notice that most of the people here genuinly just want to help each other. its great to see, thanks again for your reply I do appritiate it.

The CBSA officer will ask you nothing regarding the visitor visa, however he/she will refer you to the immigration section. There you may be asked to declare the funds you carry. You should carry amount close to the amount you had stated in your application for your TRV.
I wish you a wonderful journey!

I think a bank statement won't work at a Canadian Port of Entry, however that is only my opinion.

I think a combination of both will a good proof of funds, in case you're asked to show up money. Remember NOT to carry $10,000 or more in cash.
Hope you'll have a pleasant and safe journey!

I thought you could take in over 10000 as long as you declare it?

Hello;
My advice is to carry about $6000 in cash, and about $7000 in travelers cheques; if it's possible for you. A TRAVELER'S CHEQUE is not considered cash.
The amount that was declared on your TRV application includes the air line ticket.
