dear all,

i am applying for PR (got ITA on 31May2017).

me, my wife and son are part of application and we are planning to declare around 22K CDN dollars.

my questions are:-

are proof of funds more like a bank statement only or do we need any cover letter from bank too?

secondly we are planning to transfer funds to one account and send only one statement from single account (to have simple and clear picture of funds). now the problem is that the statement will reflect that one week old transfer... is that fine?

lastly, FIXED deposit also falls under proof of funds?

thanks you for help in advance

Congrats on the ITA!

I had no problem showing multiple bank statements as my proof of funds, but for ease of reading them, I provided a table of contents summarizing the contents of my POF .pdf file. My statements included multiple personal accounts for myself, for my spouse and one joint account.

The bank statements should show (1) average balance over the preceding 6 months, (2) date/s the account/s were opened, (3) account number, and (4) current balance apart from the contact details and signature of authorized representative from the bank.

I also included in my POF some company documents proving that a large deposit made within the preceding 6 months was from a substantial company bonus. You should also do the same if you need to prove a big change in the balance of your account with gift deeds or any documents that can prove that it was not from a loan.
