Proof of Funds (targeted at Indians)

In this forum, I realized after going through certain threads, that it's quite difficult when it comes to a trivial requirement like Proof of Funds. I'm super concerned about it because I have not done any savings in my 8 years of work experience. What are the rules really?

I'm thinking of withdrawing Provident Fund (an Indian concept) which is about CAD $6000 and the rest I would like to save from my salary. It's quite difficult, however, citing their requirement to show trail of the money, I have to take these steps. Anyone (preferably Indians) got a better idea?

My mother will be able to borrow money from her relatives and credit it to my account. But I'm sure it ain't that easy. How can she show that the money she is crediting to my account is her saving? When I retrospect, it's nothing but my salary that I have been withdrawing as cash and storing it at home, which was used for personal reasons, which she would now be able to credit back to my account through cash deposits.

How can you do gift deed ??? cash or bank transfer ?
