Hello Seniors,

Is anyone approached SBI banks for funds settlement letters and drafts (in CAD)?

I would like to know how I have to approach them to ask for the same details.. could you please help me out?

Hi,

I had taken my funds / accounts statements from SBI. You need to go to your branch with an application and they will give it to you at a fee (don't remember the exact amount, but it was 100 INR + tax). For any additional letters you can follow the same approach.

And about Draft for OINP fee $1500 CAD.. Did bank gave draft in CAD currency? please let me know if I have to submit a different form for this too? thanks again!!

SBI issues draft in CAD, check with any of your nearest branch, they will guide you.

I recently approached SBI to get the letter for my term deposit..They provided me the letter mentioning amount detail and Date of opening of term deposit and Date of maturity..
However i provided them the format by e-mail.

Happy to help .. Drafts etc can be requested in CAD. Also, I wanted them to put a specific line for my FD accounts that those accounts were "free of debt or any other encumbrances" and they helped with that as the FDs are anyway free of debt/encumbrances.

In your application just mention that you need statement of accounts for VISA purpose for the last 6 months and provide your particulars. Additionally you need to ask them for a general "To whomever it may concern" letter on their letterhead, following by something like "This letter is to certify that your name holds an account at our institution / branch" and gives an account by account statement of FDs with the following line:

"The funds above are free of any debt and/or encumbrances. These funds are readily available for the account holder’s withdrawal if required."

It should be signed by the bank authorities with their designation / name on the letter with their official seal.
