I recently approached SBI to get the letter for my term deposit..They provided me the letter mentioning amount detail and Date of opening of term deposit and Date of maturity..china.cse said:Hello Seniors,
Is anyone approached SBI banks for funds settlement letters and drafts (in CAD)?
I would like to know how I have to approach them to ask for the same details.. could you please help me out?
Happy to help .. Drafts etc can be requested in CAD. Also, I wanted them to put a specific line for my FD accounts that those accounts were "free of debt or any other encumbrances" and they helped with that as the FDs are anyway free of debt/encumbrances.china.cse said:Thanks Chiyakam!! for quick reply...

Thank you for your help.chiyakam said:In your application just mention that you need statement of accounts for VISA purpose for the last 6 months and provide your particulars. Additionally you need to ask them for a general "To whomever it may concern" letter on their letterhead, following by something like "This letter is to certify that your name holds an account at our institution / branch" and gives an account by account statement of FDs with the following line:
"The funds above are free of any debt and/or encumbrances. These funds are readily available for the account holder’s withdrawal if required."
It should be signed by the bank authorities with their designation / name on the letter with their official seal.
That's it
