Proof of funds - joint account

I am the main applicant and I have a joint account with my common-law partner. Does he need to sign a No Objection Certificate, stating that he has no objection in handing the funds in this joint account? We are using the money in this account for the proof of funds.

You can get a letter signed from him, stating that he has no problem.
