I have to show proof of funds in the amount of $ 16,225. Of course, this is in Canadian dollar, right? How should I present my bank statement? I just have to show about $ 14,000.00 in american dollar or do I have to send a letter explaining the exchange rate?

Thanks.

I think there is a Form that needs to be filled, referred to as the "Personal Net Worth Statement" to show the proof of funds.

It is here you will need to input the Exchange rate you have used. The Funds can be in any currency as long as, when exchanged, amounts to the required sum.

I may be talking about the simplified application process here. Let's c what others say.

Well, I have just sent documents... I have funds in Gulf Currency... Property in Pakistan Rupees... I have put up an online currency exchange from http://www.xe.com. and also a sheet with sum up.

So I suggest that you take total in whatever currency, do an online exchange at www.xe.com and print out the result.

i think it does not matter what currency is your fund is. what important is that your fund must be equal or more than the required proof of funds in Canadian dollar. the CIC is smart enough to determine if you have the enough fund based from the bank statement that you will provide.
