you got lucky. The burden of proving that an applicant has adequate funds lies on the applicant. The best way is to keep it as straight-forward as possible- Savings account in the PA name (or Joint Account with Spouse- if spouse is included in the application). FD's etc are acceptable too since they can be easily liquidated (whereas something like a property is illiquid, can't be liquidated easily).asifmehmood said:Gold (not jewelry) is acceptable.
I submitted my POF as gold coin, i had less cash in bank, I took the pictures attached with receipt which was hand written, for valuation I print the current gold rates from Internet and attached it also.

Gold is not recommended- because their value varies, there is no way to prove it's yours (could easily have been borrowed and assessed in your name) etc. That's the way Visa Officers are trained- to find faults to disqualify/reject applications.
Stick to Wayne's suggestion and provide as much proof as possible that the funds are yours.
