Proof of Funds in a PR Application

I'm applying for PR this year. I have been in Vancouver since April 17 2019, and working since June 23 2019. I am a British citizen here on a 2 year Working Holiday Visa. Ends in April 2021. I have 5+ years of experience in my role in total. My role is skilled, falls under the B category of office work (game development at EA.) I've been told I should have no problems obtaining PR, with my current situation, but there is one thing that might stop me. Proof of funds. I believe the minimum was $15,000 to show in your account. I don't have this much money. The Canadian Government website does state that proof of funds is not required if you have a job offer.

2 questions.

  1. Job offer only, or does this include, if you're already working? Can I just show my original job offer from June 2019, for the job I am currently still at?
  2. Is this true? My Taiwanese friend is also applying for PR and she is adamant you have to prove funds. She is going through an immigration lawyer but her English isn't the best, so I am unsure if she is just misunderstanding the rule, or if I am.
Worst case scenario I return to the crappy island and save for 3-4 months then reapply for PR.

Thanks in advance.
