Hello guys, I moved to Canada in September 2017 and recently finished my post graduate certificate from a community college in Toronto. I’m in the process of creating a profile for express entry and am wondering what amount should I put in for proof of funds. I have 3 years of NOC A experience from India and qualify under the FSW stream it seems (I’m trying to get an Ontario PNP as my education is from Toronto). However, I haven’t found a skilled job yet and am working as a security guard full time in the meanwhile. Please suggest how to go about the proof of funds factor. Am I exempt as I have a full time job and am already on a PGWP?

If you're going through FSW, you need to show POF no matter what.
The only exception is if you have a valid job offer with LMIA, or from a LMIA exempt company.

Thank you!

Does a valid job offer mean it has be under NOC A, B or O category? Also, do I need to show POF at the OINP stage or at the Express Entry stage later once my OINP points have been added?

Yes, job offer needs to be in category 0, A, or B with LMIA, or from a LMIA exempt company.
For funds, you will need to have a valid Express Entry profile, which means declaring more than the minimum depending on the size of your family. Then, once you receive your OINP and get 600 points, you'll have to apply for PR through Express Entry, and at that stage you show documents for POF.

Given my situation right now, I’m submitting my Express Entry profile soon. In the meanwhile, if I manage to find a full time job for myself under NOC A, B or O, will I be exempt from POF?

I have been here for a while now and do make around $2500 a month (25000-30000 per annum). What are the other avenues you suggest if I’m falling short of POF?

Like I said, in your case, if you manage to get a valid job offer in Category 0, A, or B, with LMIA or from LMIA except company, you are exempt from POF, even under FSW program.

Under FSW, if no valid job offer and you're falling short of POF, I'm afraid there is no other way. You have to satisfy settlement funds requirements...
Too bad your job is in Category C as security guard. If you had 1 year experience in 0,A, or B, you would have qualified for CEC. And there is no POF requirement there.

Thanks you so much for your help my friend!

I’m also wondering if I should include my current job in Canada as a security guard in my express entry profile or leave it at where I left in India? I’m not getting any extra points anyway!
