Proof of Funds for Provincial Nomination

Do you have an idea if it is acceptable to submit proof of funds for provincial nomination if they are not on the main applicant's but on the spouse's bank account?
I want to understand whether it is mandatory to submit bank statement of personal account or no?

Should be in the account of the principal applicant. Joint account with spouse can also work.
