Proof of Funds for CEC

Hi Guys

I received my ITA on 2nd October to apply under CEC. I filled the profile and when the document checklist popped up it asks for proof of funds. I read on the website that CEC applicants need not show proof of funds. I have 11000$ that I can show but this falls short if you go according to the list mentioned in the cic website. I will upload bank statements, NOA and T4 along with the letter from the bank, just in case. Is this a reason to worry?

Thanks

Just add an LOE highlighting that this doesn't apply in your case - no documents required.

Thanks Asivad Anac! I have seen that you are popular on this forum and I thought I will get your take on this other question I have. I received my ITA a month before I completed my 2 years of work experience. My score was supposed to rise in November but it did in October. I will submit my application after the date I complete 2 years. Please advise.

In the past, I've advised people to decline (or at least NOT accept) an ITA until they really deserve it. In your case, either submit the application after those points legitimately accrue to your account and hope for the best or (if you have a 460+ score) you can consider declining it and wait for another ITA in the near future.

With a CEC invitation, just send your bank statement, NoA, and T4 - you don't have to meet the minimums. And do wait until you pass that two-year mark to submit UNLESS your score was boosted by LMIA or PNP. If you submit with only one year of experience, they will reduce your score accordingly even though the excess points were their own fault. If your score remains above your draw, though, you will be fine. It's only if that makes your score drop below your draw that you have to worry. With LMIA or PNP, your score will not drop too low even if you are only given credit for one year of experience.

Otherwise, wait until you pass that two-year mark. But think twice before declining, as there is no guarantee of more draws this year, no guarantee that a new government, to be elected later this month, will continue the EE program, and no guarantee that you will be included in subsequent draws.
