Proof of Funds - FD + Loan on FD

Hello,

I will be applying for my Visa soon and i have some questions regarding proof of funds. I am not quoting actual amount but approximation here. This is a 1 year program for MS.

I have 2 Million rupees in FD and i can get another 1.8 Million as a 'loan on FD'.

Total fee to be shown needs to be around 3.5 Million Rupees for entire year college fee + Living expenses.

2 +1.8 = 3.8 Million in total.

My question is that can i show FD + Loan on FD as financial proof to apply for my university. I am concerned since i took a loan on FD, i might not be able to show the FD amount as financial proof.

To answer your question in short. If you take loan on FD the FD will be converted to the bank`s name theFFD certificate will not have your name. So you can't produce your old expired FD documents you'll get into trouble.

Oh i see, thank you very much. I will check with the bank regarding this.

But when i checked earlier, they said they will give me a certificate saying "a loan has been taken on this FD". Will it cause problem in case if FD certificate says as mentioned?
