Hi all

Should I include my credit card statement in proof of funds? I assume they want to know I don't have loads of money on my credit card.

Thanks

Do not include your credit card statement. Even if you have zero balance, the fact is that you cannot borrow the funds you intend to use for settlement in Canada. For this reason, anything "credit" will not help your cause.

I wasn't thinking of it as a way of proving funds. More so they know I don't have loads of money on a credit card

I have the same question wanted to start a new thread but this is relevant so posting here ..some people say it is better to carry excessive funds to be on safe side to not run out of money.

Can I load a international credit card or debit card for another 3k$ or 5k$ and carry it without declaring and start using in Canada ?

Debit NOT credit. Yes, you can load your debit card with extra funds. I believe you only need to declare physical cash and bank/travelers checks.

Thanks KusKus :D so credit card is not allowed ?
As I tried to explain above, the funds required for settlement in Canada cannot be borrowed, hence credit cards cannot be used. On the other hand, the funds in your debit card belongs to you.
