proof of funds- confused

please clarrify-

1.if show bank deposit or bank balance in my home country how it serve the purpose in canada since funds are in home country.how can i transfer immidiately or after some time.i am not clear on this pont.

2.once i land to collect my PR card then back to home,again when i visit, is it necessary to show proof of funds.

1. Its not necessary to have money in hand. It can be either in form of travellers cheque or even a bank statement in personal account (from where applicant is coming) will do, as far as it shows the minimum amount required.

2. No, you do not have to show the amount again.

I will add these lines, as mentioned by PMM in one ofthe otehr post for same question:


2. Either, traveller's cheques, cash, bank statement, cashiers cheque. Don't forget if you are carrying more than 10K you must declare it on leaving the US and entering Canada.

I THINK, If all travelling togather and you are Principal applicant, you can hold all required funds.

Another thing you can do is you can Send a bank statement to CIC for the required amount of funs and when you get to Canada You show the immigration officer your bankstatement and when you open a canadia bank account you have your money transfered.
