My worker permit is expiring on Oct 31, 2013. I'd like to remain in Canada a lil longer. I'm not sure if my situation will raise flags to the embassy. I filed a divorce with my husband a couple weeks back and I would need more time to stay so I can accomplish the whole process. I'll need to go to the superior court at a much later time to sign a sworn statement to finalize the divorce. The thing is I won't have any means of financial support while I'm in the country except for my boyfriend taking responsibility of me. We're planning to get married after my divorce. We've been dating for over a year.

Is there anything I can do or any comments? Is it a good idea to present my case to the embassy in an honest manner or?

If you are already in Canada, why would you need to submit application to an "embassy"? You would submit in-land TRV application since you are already in Canada. You can include a letter from your boyfriend stating he will take care of you financially. And of course he would have to submit proof of his own income (employment letter, bank statements, etc).

Oh.

Excuse my lack of knowledge with the proper terms, I'll have to familiarize myself. I do intend to apply within Canada.

Thanks a lot!
