Hi There,

I am applying for visitor visa for my brother who is working in India. He doesnt have any solid savings to show at the moment.
Can he open a new fixed deposit to show as proof of funds?

Since it is a new change, how will it be perceived by the immigration officer ? Please advice.

Well he has to show how he got those funds and will want to show at least 3 months that funds were maintained. Funds should not be depleted to come to Canada.

Funds should also be in cash not fixed deposit. His savings must make sense based on his own employment or it will be clear that it is not a result of his own savings.
