proof of funds at the port of landing

Dear all;

i would like to ask about the proof of funds at the time of landing ( in the airport )...... i have the funds in an account in a bank in egypt ( this bank not have any branch in canada ) ....... So, is the officer in the airport accept the bank statment or bank certificate showing the funds which is that bank not have any branch in canada ......?

or i must transfer the funds to any bank in canada & then get the certificate from that bank....? or i take the money cash ( this is not preferable )....?

the amount is 18000 $

When you are landing the funds available should be shown to an officer at the airport when asked, either as cash/travelers checks/Demand draft or already deposited in a bank account in your name at any bank in Canada. It will not be acceptable if you leave the funds in Egypt or in any other country. No need to take full cash. You can split according to your choice.
