proof of funds at the port of landing

Dear all;

i intend to land in canada next October ,,,, so i would line to know if i can take the funds with me ( 17000 $ cash ) or can deposit it in an account like HSBC & got a bank certificate to show them in the airport .

So, what should i do ...?

Cash or bank statement should be okay; however, if during landing you have $ 10000 or more in cash, you should declare it to avoid complication.
