Proof of funds and gift deed

Hi,

I am in the process of submitting the application to CIC.

For the POF I have to show 23,000 Canadian dollars. I am short on 5000 Canadian dollars and am taking the money as a gift from my spouse (dependent applicant). I think we do not have to show the donor account statement. But are there chances that CIC will ask for donor statement later given that donor is a dependent applicant.

Is your spouse coming with you to Canada? If yes, you can submit both your account statements without transfer of funds (as POF under the names of accompanying family members are accepted).
