Proof of funds after nominated through OOPNP?

hey guys,

a lot of you must be aware about the current OOPNP human capital stream. I have got the PT letter and I am going to apply soon.

The question is, once you have been nominated by the province, allocated 600 points and got the ITA in next round (which will happen after at least 3 months), would you have to show proof of funds again ? I mean when you are submitting your documents for final PR application to the federal government, will you need to submit bank statements showing these funds again ? My situation is that, I am eligible for OOPNP under CEC and I am outside of Canada...

Is it the case that the provincial nominees getting the ITA do not have to show these funds again ??

any insight would be highly appreciated !

OOPNP is provincial(state), CEC is federal(Central) . Each have their own criteria and mandatory requirements and the agents processing the applications are not the same. I would strongly suggest you to follow the individual guidelines for both of them. So to answer your question, YES you would have to show proof of funds again if CEC asks for it.

I am not an expert, but the rationale for having to prove you have sufficient funds to support yourself in Canada would only make sense if you had to bring those funds with you. That is why CIC stipulates they must not be borrowed. They can ask you to show that they are yours by producing multi month bank statements and you can be asked to show proof at the Point of Entry.

Hi, do you have to have proof of funds (or indeed any funds) for PNP under CEC if you already live and work in Ontario or is it just for FSW?

Thanks

for pnp, if ur eligible under cec, and ur living in canada, ONLY THEN, u dont need to show proof of funds because you are authorized to work. however, if you are outside of canada, then doesnt matter what category you are eligible for, cec or fswp, you have to show these funds in your account.. .

If this is true then thats a huge relief. Do you have references/links where this is mentioned officially?

it wont let post the link but just search cic funds..and the first two lines are :

Unless you are currently authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer from an employer in Canada, you must show that you have enough money to support yourself and your family after you get to Canada.

your in canada, you are authorized to work isnt it.. also, i phoned ontario pnp, spoke with this lady, she confirmed this to me... unfortunately when i told her im eligible under cec but outside canada, she said, oh oh, then u gotta show proof of funds..

being in canada helps a lot mate..lol

VALID offer letter is the offer letter with LMIA.
So It does not matter if you are in Canada or not. You should have an LMIA to support your job (if we had it., then we would go for PR not PNP. :p)

I partially agree with jemdill. But I think there is value in checking with OOPNP. If you have a job in Canada and even ifs not LMIA, I guess you can show income/salary to support you and family.

Hi jemdill, im of the impression that there are two ways that exempt from submitting pof. Authorised to work in canada and have a job offer(with lmo).. Say if u r on post graduate visa or international exp or any category that authorises u to work without needing lmo, then u should be fine..

But like u said that u n ur spouse are in ON, been working for two years and they said u gotta submit pof then im havin second thoughts.. Are you guys eligible under cec or fswp?

We both are eligible for CEC and FSW
