proof of fund

recently, i got copr. now planning to travel to canada. two questions
1. do i need to bring money, monetary instruments or bank balance certificate will be okay. is it proof of availability or real show off?
2. can i travel just for one day giving some address out there for pr to be delivered. if so when i disembark from canada, will passport control verify minimum days to have been spent in canada before departure.

1. You have to show proof of fund according to your family size ( if u r married and having kids )

2. You can provide friend's address, can come back in few hours if you go by road. IO officer may ask you how long did you stay in Canada? answer correctly.

i am still not clear as to the question of proof of fund. do i need to bring/show them (whatever) money and or instruments or will bank balance certificate/statement fulfill the purpose. Thanks again.

....funds could be in the form of:
•cash
•securities in bearer form (for example, stocks, bonds, debentures, treasury bills) or
•negotiable instruments in bearer form, such as bankers' drafts, cheques, travellers' cheques or money orders.

A letter of guarantee would thus not be acceptable for them as proof of funds.

Ok here it goes:

1> When you enter canada and go through the formal proceedings with the VO, he may/may not ask for proof of funds. But from my experience listening to the members on here, it is mostly asked. Make sure that the funds are there and you have ready proof to verify that. Else you might have a problem.
2> I know quite a lot of people do that. As long as the people back in Canada can send ur PR card back to you, you are good. Off course, this sis something that is illegal as per law but hell, its all good if you have reliable people there in Canada to deliver the goods.
