Hi all,

I would like to know that :-
1) can we use bank statements and just bring around CAD19000 (cash) as a proof of fund during at the port of entry in Canada during the landing? Will there be any issues?

2) What is the procedure for declaring if i bring cash more then CAD10000? Will there any penalty payment?

3)Will the office ask certain questions like :-
- How many fund do you have in total (if they ask which actually do they referring to whether during the application of study permit or how much money i bring over)??

4) I had transferred all by fund to Canada but the problem is i did not have a current bank statement from canada bank due to lack of time and i going to fly before they can produce me the bank statement and can i just show the VO the transfer receipt i have from my country ??

5) Does the bank statement that i bring over must be the same amount of sum which i stated during my application (because i have exceed the minimum amount and i did not have all the statement with me ), will it be fine so long i just meet the minimum requirement (tuition fee + living expenses)?

Thank you very much

Hi,

1,3,4&5: Absolutely not required. Your TRV + 'Letter of Introduction' is itself a proof of your financial capacity. At port of entry, you need;
:a valid passport,
:a valid TRV,
:a letter of introduction,
:a valid LOA.
2. To declare $10,000 or more, fill up and sign 'FORM E677' and hand it over to the CBSA office at port of entry. www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications/pub/bsf5052-eng.html

*the safest and most convenient way to carry $ is American Express Travelers Cheques - they are refundable if lost/stolen, usually within 24 hours.

Hi,

1. No, it's not compulsory, but 'strongly recommended' (as per the visa checklist). A certified loan is an extremely important part of your visa file (India).

For bank statement, I quote one official letter (deferral request) from CHC (India).

Point 6: "Personal and company bankbooks or bank statements for you/your parents showing transactions over the past 24 months. Proof of any other invested funds you may have."

And, If you believe, you are smart enough to make fool of CHC by "arranging" money from unknown sources, thn;

Point 7: "Proof of the origin of your recent bank deposits."

2. Yes, you can prove your financial source via;
: Proof of any invested funds.
: Proof of your/your parents' agricultural income (attach property ownership/agricultural receipts).
3. Google isn't a rocket science. Keep searching on it.
4. List of;
:Canadian University/Colleges Program Categories www.canadian-universities.net/Programs/index.html

Thanks Enfield,

But still not clear about "proof of finance" actualy just for your information i m talking about study permit not in the terms of bank loan in study permit suppose i have to show 25000 CAD, so can i show money without taking education loan from bank? << i.e my question and if yes then have to show liquid fund i.e bank balance or can i show my parent's property (property like house/land/FD)?
another question is if education loan from bank is compulsory then what is the solution for someone is enough capable to show money from him self?

Hi,

1. You can show finance without a loan. It's not compulsory to have a loan, but 'strongly recommended' by the CHC (India).
2. Your 'property' (land/house/CA valuation report/agriculture) are all useless (and not required) to prove your financial capacity (India). You can prove your financial source by;
: an above average ITR.
: bank transaction statement of the last 24 months (India).
: Proof of any invested funds like funds, FD, LIC etc
: Proof of your/your parents' agricultural "income" (to prove it attach agricultural property ownership/agricultural income receipts)

Hi Enfield,

Can you please clarify "above average ITR"?
If the head of the family as in your Father has retired from service/employment then what do we need to furnish in terms of showing financial capabilties??would the loan sanction letter suffice to prove that u are financially sound??
