Hello.
I am sponsoring my husband from Iraq and I recieved an email from the embassy today...
(This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.
We received the documents you sent us. You are required to submit further documents as below:
· -Advise if your sponsor is currently receiving social assistance or has received assistance in the past. Provide periods of assistance if any.
· -Proof your sponsor has the financial means to support you in Canada. This proof should consist of bank statements, pay stubs, rental agreement or other proof of a residence in Canada.
· -If your sponsor is supported by family members in Canada who will also assist you, provide proof of their financial situation.
· -Proof of any assets or savings you have to bring to Canada.)
Our problem is that I don't have an income. I am looking for work right now, but I haven't been able to find a job. I am working part time at Superstore, but I only have one pay stub from them for $45. They only give me five hours a week, so that is not much to support him. We don't have any savings because of some things we have been through, nor do we have any assets. I only have some gold jewelry that I can sell, but I don't think it will be much.
We can also put some amount into a bank account but I think they would ask why the amount was put into the bank all at one time instead of gradually? It would be hard to believe that it was legit savings if it was all put in at once. I thought we could say that we have been saving that money as cash and only decided to put it into a bank account when they asked for proof of savings, but would that work?
Can anyone help or give me any advice?
Thanks.
