Quick question, i am sponsoring my common law partner family class, my question is on my checklist under point 18 it says that i need to show proof of employment. I thought that if i have my most recent option c i do not need to show any proof of employment is that correct?

You need to prove that you can take care of your undertakings. Showing proof of employment is just another V mark which help to satisfy the VO that you are capable of it. However, since there is no minimum income requirement and no current employment is required to be able to sponsor your child or a spouse it is unlikely that failing to provide one is going to lead to rejection. I would be inclined to do the maximum I can to prove your standing/relationship though, i.e. providing the letter if i am employed.

I believe that a letter from your employer is also required, if you are employed.

What does your (sponsor's) checklist ask for?
