Hello,

I have been living in Canada for the last 3 years.
When I get invited to apply for my PR through express entry, do I have to provide proof of employment from where I used to work back in my home country?
It might be difficult for me to obtain that information.

Thank you.

If you claimed points for that Work Experience , Then yes you need to provide Ref letters for that. Otherwise not needed.

What about pay stubs?
Will a letter signed by my former employer suffice?

Employment letter is enough as long as it meets all the criteria: (since your job was in Canada, you can also include T4s; paystubs are optional)

a reference or experience letter from the employer

should be an official document printed on company letterhead (must include the applicant’s name, the company’s contact information [address, telephone number and e-mail address], and the name, title and signature of the immediate supervisor or personnel officer at the company);

should indicate all positions held while employed at the company and must include the following details: job title, duties and responsibilities, job status (if current job), dates worked for the company, number of work hours per week and annual salary plus benefits.

Hey Andre, for the T4, is it just for the employer which we are claiming points? Or all the T4s for that Tax year (including the ones that we didn't claim points)?

Thanks :D

If you're claiming 1 year of experience (minimum) in Canada (Canadian Experience) then no. If you're including work experience from back home (Skilled Worker) then yes.

Gemerally, you only need to provide any information about employment you claim points for. Everything else is not required.

Actually this job was not in Canada it was back in my home country (Venezuela). I worked there right after school.
I can get a letter but no pay stubs.
