Hi,

On the checklist, it says that for all accompanying dependants submit proof of relationship to the principal applicant. Now underneath it, it says that "if the children will not accompany you to Canada, poof that you have fulfilled any obligation stated in custody agreements"

Does anyone know what this means? These 2 statements seem contradictory! I'm sponsoring my parent, but their dependant children over age of 22 won't be accompanying them. But it's possible in the future to sponsor them.

This however makes me wonder if the dependant child of over age 22 should accompany my parent as well. Will this strengthen the application or delay the matter? What do you guys think? Anyone gone through this?

Thanks in advance!

Those two statement are not contradictory.
1. One of your parent is principal applicant and he/she has to prove the relationship with their children who are accompanying with them by providing birth certificate which has names of your father/mother but if they are not accompanying with them then this does not applicable to them.
2. The 2nd point (underneath) you mentioned is continuation of the very above point where it says "IMM 5604".... this is when your parents have custody issues with their kids then one of them has to prove that they have fulfill their obligation stated in custody agreement.
I am not sure if your parents can sponsor your brother/sister later.
