Hi my wife and I communicated through WhatsApp in a foreign language (text and video calls). What format should I use when I get these texts translated into English? WhatsApp has an export chat history feature that gives all the texts in a word file with dates and time. Would that be okay, or should I take hundreds of screenshot on my phone and put several of them on a page until I reach the max of 10 pages allowed per application. If I do the screenshot method, I am not sure how the translated version would look. It will probably just be text instead of screenshots.

Also, would I need to submit a copy of the chat history in the foreign language on top of the translations?

For video calls history, I couldn't find an export feature on WhatsApp. I plan to take screenshots of my call logs in WhatsApp and put some of these in a word doc to be printed and included in the application.

I have similar situation...you can do both way (export chat with time and date/screenshots) you can put up to 4 - 6 screenshots per page. Certified translator will translate them as text format and merge the original either beside or on top depending on how they are comfortable.

From my knowledge they dont ask for video chat! Its good to include screenshots that shows the name or number of your spouse and call duration. The way how I did is by exporting the conversations from 2016 up to 2019. O chose 2 page for beginning on 2016 (Jan) 2 pages for 2017 ( april) 2 pages for 2018 (sep, before i went for the wedding) 2 pages for 2019 (november) and 2 pages of FB chat.

So I pretty much covered all 4 years like a story format. And I did my own translation and sent it to a certified translator to proof read. He did and pasted them in his own template and tamped his affidavit. Trust me I saved about $300 hope this gives you an idea.
