My partner and I have opened a shared visa application for Express Entry (federal skilled worker), as a common-law partnership. None of us have any link to Canada, so sponsorship is not involved.
The problem is that we have not been able to find clear information on what exactly we need to submit, and how it needs to be submitted. From what we gathered, we need:

Note: We are aware that there has not been a FSW draw since 2020 and that there is no confirmation on when the next one might be. We just want to apply and have everything prepared for when the time comes.

- Our rental contract, which we are both named on. This document is in German, so we plan to get the key parts of it translated (certified translation).
- Bank statements with our names and address. This is mostly for good measure.
- Common-law union form (IMM5409e)
