Hi all,

I am planning on applying for permanent residence, and my girlfriend is going to sponsor me. I am here on a 2-year Working Holiday visa (I am from the UK), and as of today it's nearly halfway completed. I have some issues/questions regarding the nature of proof I must submit.

  • I arrived in Canada on 24th Oct 2017 - I won't submit my application until after this date this year.
  • We moved into her parents' house the following day, and resided there until March 4th, 2018. Does it matter if part of our cohabitation was at her parents house?
  • We have no joint accounts together - at this time is it even worth adding her to an account of mine? (or vice-versa)
  • We probably have a few good things that prove our relationship (concert tickets, hotels). Should we submit evidence from a period when we were only friends? To show the evolution of our relationship from friends to partners?
  • The evidence I can 100% gather is: notarized letters from her parents saying we co-habited in their residence for a period of months until we moved out, a lease agreement for our new place with both our names, scans of our drivers licences with the new address on, bank transfers from my partner with her portion of the rent, and some tickets/hotels/other stuff we did together. Should that suffice?
  • Utility bills are in my name only - problem?

  • I know the application takes around 12 months. Since my IEC visa is 24 months, and I've already done half of it, it's going to be cutting it fine. Can I apply for an open work permit, and if so, can I have it start as my IEC runs out? And if not, would it conflict in any way with my IEC if they run concurrently?
That's pretty much all the questions I have regarding evidence. I know there's a medical exam too, can anybody give me an idea of what sort of tests they run?

Thanks.
