Hello,

I am currently in the process of applying for a proof of citizenship for my 6 year old son.
He was born in the States and I am a Canadian citizen. We are currently living in the States.

My question is, as the biological father who is completing the form on my son's behalf, do I become his representative, and if so, do I need to submit the representative form?

I looked everywhere, but cannot find a competent answer to this question.

We had the same situation last year. My child was born in the states. In order to get her Canadian passport, we had to get her proof of citizenship. As I recall, my husband completed her application. I was not her representative and I don’t think it is necessary.
